FULFILLMENT IN YESHUA
|
||
The fulfillment of Genesis 3:15 is very simply stated in the Gospel of Luke 1:26-35.
In majestic simplicity, Rabbi Shaul, the Apostle Paul, describes the fulfillment in one sentence.
But when the fullness of the time came, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the Law,17 Genesis 3:15 is a Literal Prophecy With a Literal Fulfillment (See The Four Ways the Brit Chadasha Uses the Hebrew Scriptures). A literal descendant of Eve will appear who will literally suffer and defeat Satan who is a literal angelic being. In addition, Genesis 3:15 is a First Coming Only prophecy (See The Four Types of Messianic Prophecies). It deals strictly with the program of the first coming of the Messiah and nothing more. Yeshua is the supernatural seed of the woman who, although dreadfully suffering Himself, will devastate Satan and rise as the victorious deliverer of mankind.
At this point we have examined the prophecy itself. We have also demonstrated the fact that our understanding of its Messianic significance has rabbinic support. Finally, we have established our conviction that the prophecy was fulfilled in the First Coming of Yeshua as related by the New Covenant scriptures. Now we need to concern ourselves with a new issue.
