To the Jew First

The Biblical Research Society was founded on the premise that literature is the most logical means of presenting to Israel the facts pertaining to our Lord's birth, life, death, resurrection and ascension to the right hand of the Father. It was for this purpose that Dr. Cooper prepared a series of seven books called the Messianic Series, an enlargement of the themes of The Eternal God Revealing Himself to Suffering Israel. From the Old Testament Scriptures, the first four books provide evidence relating to the deity, virgin birth, the two comings of the Messiah and the prophecies foretelling His advent into the human realm. The last three books move into the New Testament to present His historical appearance, the fact of His imminent, glorious return and His final call to His ancient people, Israel.

MESSIANIC SERIES - 7 BOOKS
ABR. $42.00 / UNABR. $57.00

Title

Description

THE GOD OF ISRAEL

ABR. $4.00
UNABR. $6.00

The first of the Messianic series. The Jewish person who says that there is but one God misunderstands the Great Declaration: "Hear, O Israel, Jehovah our Gods is Jehovah a Unity" (Deut. 6:4, literal trans.). His misconception is expressed in his belief that the New Testament teaches, and Christians proclaim, that there are three Gods. The doctrine concerning the Trinity must be presented from the Hebrew Scriptures so he may see it is not of Christian origin, but was proclaimed by Moses and the prophets.

MESSIAH: HIS NATURE AND PERSON

ABR. $5.00
UNABR. $6.00

The Jew's understanding of Messiah is formulated by data found in the books of Samuel, Kings and Chronicles, especially that which refers to Saul, David and Solomon. He understands these men to have been born by natural generation; that each lived a normal life, served his generation then passed on. Not giving due consideration to the message of the prophets, he concluded that the Messiah is to be only a man, another David. Therefore the truth must be presented concerning King Messiah - that He is One of the Divine persons and that, according to the prophets, He was to enter the world by virgin birth, and His death was to be the atonement for the entire human race.

MESSIAH: HIS REDEMPTIVE CAREER

ABR. $5.00
UNABR. $5.00

Not being familiar with the teaching of the prophets, the Jew looks for only one appearance of King Messiah. He thinks the Christian is simply bolstering a case for Jesus when he promulgates the doctrine of two comings of the one Messiah, separated by an interval during which He is at the right hand of the throne of God, so it is necessary to present to him, from the Hebrew Scriptures, the truth concerning Messiah's career.

MESSIAH: HIS FIRST COMING SCHEDULED

ABR. $5.00
UNABR. $15.00

During the Christian ear, certain Jewish leaders set a particular day for King Messiah's appearance and the year of Redemption. Chronology has been their strong point. The fact is, however, God has never run events of the universe to accord with man made schedules. Diametrically opposed to the view held by Christians, one leading rabbi representatively expressed the Jewish view: "The Jews say that the Messiah has never appeared, whereas Christians are convinced that He has already come." One must show the Jews that, according to the Scriptures, the Messiah was to appear exactly as He did over 1,900 years ago.

MESSIAH: HIS HISTORICAL APPEARANCE

ABR. $8.00
UNABR. $10.00

In this fifth book of the Series we deal with the greatest question ever to engage the attention of man. Its contents are concerned with Jesus of Nazareth. Positive evidence has convinced multiplied millions, past and present, that He was indeed a historical person and that He was what He claimed to be - and what the four evangelists, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, say He was.

MESSIAH: HIS GLORIOUS APPEARANCE IMMINENT

ABR. $7.00
UNABR. $7.00

Positive evidence must be produced to show that Messiah's return to earth is an impending event. It must be presented in a clear and forceful manner. This testimony is presupposed in Ps. 75:1, where Israel is described as having strong convictions and as expectantly awaiting Messiah's return: "We give thanks unto thee, O God; we give thanks, for thy name [nature] is near: men tell of thy wondrous works."

MESSIAH: HIS FINAL CALL TO ISRAEL

ABR. $8.00
UNABR. $8.00

When the people of Israel are thoroughly convinced of the Messiahship of Jesus - and of their guilt before Him - they will repudiate their national sin. He will not return until this is done (Hosea 5:15-6:3 and Lev. 26:39,40). This particular truth was addressed to the Sanhedrin by our Lord (Matt. 23:38,39).
