May 2012 Newsletter
Shalom Dear Friends,
Enlarging Our Borders!
The Lord has been busy recently enlarging our borders in two critical areas: Internet Enlargement and Overseas Enlargement. We are amazed and excited. Here’s the scoop.
Foreign Language Translations
First of all, the translation of our web site into Modern Israeli Hebrew has picked up steam. We now have two translators at work. Our primary translator is Adam, a believing Israeli living in Jerusalem. We hope to get a picture of him, his wife, and their seven children soon.
Second, our Hebrew instructor, Racheli, also an Israeli, is working on translating our testimony pages. At present we are nearing the half-way point (43%) of the project.
Please pray that Adam and Racheli will be able to make steady progress and do excellent work presenting HaDavar and the Good News of Yeshua (Jesus) the Messiah to the Hebrew speaking world. In addition, please ask the Lord to supply the necessary funds for this project. If the Lord leads you to participate, you can sponsor a page of translation at $21.00 per page.
HaDavar YouTube Channel
Because two supporters generously donated a video camera and a cutting edge computer we are now able to digitally record three of our classes and place them on the Internet using YouTube. This means that solid, conservative, Bible believing classes are available to the English speaking world, free of charge for those who are interested. We have been posting the classes week by week for two months as each session is presented live at Irvine Community Church. At this point we have experienced 1,240 video views. That is about 550 views per month for the first two months. Wow, we are amazed and gratified that so many people are learning about and taking advantage of the HaDavar Ministries Channel. Please pray that we will soon experience 5,000 video views! In addition, we have 13 subscribers to the channel. Subscribers receive e-mail notifications when new class sessions are posted. Become a subscriber today and please pray that we will soon have a hundred fold subscribers!
How To Take Our Classes
If you would like to take our classes over the Internet you have two options: the audio only option and the video option.
Audio Only Option
To listen to the classes using the audio only option, just go to our web site, www.hadavar.org, then hover over SBJS (School of Biblical and Jewish Studies) and click on “online classes.” Scroll down the “Online Classes” page until you come to the class you want and click on the title. Scroll down the class page to the session you want and click on the “►” symbol. That will start your class session. To pause the presentation, click on the “‖” symbol. You can adjust the volume up or down by clicking on the volume bars on the left side.
To view a class session on YouTube, go to our website www.hadavar.org and click on the logo. On the YouTube Channel page click on “featured,” “feed,” or “videos” to find the class and session you desire. Click on the picture and your session will begin. You can adjust the volume and pause the video by clicking on the symbols located in the bar running across the bottom of the video window. Enjoy and be inspired!!
Please pray that the audio and video presentations will be used by God to reach, literally, the entire English speaking world “to the Jew first and also to the Greek.”
In addition to J&I seeking long term opportunities in Israel, the Lord has sent us another overseas representative. Georg Hagedorn and his wife Heidi have recently come on board as our Volunteer German Liaisons. Georg is a skilled translator. His initial project will be to translate Bob’s book “Messiah and the Tabernacle” into German for distribution in that country. Another friend of the ministry has been translating our web site into German for a number of years now. The addition of Georg means we will also have a representative who can handle requests we receive from Germany.
Please pray that Georg and Heidi will be mightily used of the Lord as they represent HaDavar in Germany and tackle various discipleship projects. We are excited to have them on board! They can be reached by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org. You can read Georg’s testimony here. Welcome aboard Georg and Heidi!
We have experienced a very busy first quarter of 2012 with five classes in session. By the first week of May two of these classes will be successfully concluded: Olivier’s class on Jewish Outreach, which ended April 11th, and Jeremy’s class on Biblical Apologetics that ends May 3rd. If you are interested in taking these classes, audio versions for both classes are available on our web site and the video of Jeremy’s class is available at the HaDavar Ministries Channel on YouTube. If you complete 80% of the classes, you are entitled to a certificate of completion. Just let us know that you have met that requirement and we will send you a certificate. Please pray about taking our classes online. You can take them at your convenience. We do not charge directly for classes, tuition, or materials; however, we appreciate voluntary donations for our direct cost in purchasing and producing the materials and paying the staff and instructors. Don’t forget our ongoing Internet classes either: Bob’s “The Jewish Life of the Messiah,” and Micah’s class “How to Pray.” Both are available in audio and video formats.
Both Olivier and Jeremy plan to be back in the Fall of 2012. In September we have scheduled Olivier to teach “Jewish Outreach: Messianic Prophecy" and we have scheduled Jeremy to teach "Scientific Apologetics." Pray, even now, for these classes.
Thanks for being part of our ministry team.
